I am Myra Salzer, founder of The Wealth Conservancy (established in 1983). In a different life before The Wealth Conservancy, my engineering background (BS, Chemical Engineering, Case Western Reserve, 1976) prepared me for problem solving, which I now apply to inheritors' lives instead of in the lab.
If I had to say what it is that makes me most effective, it would be my ability to simplify the impossibly complicated. I can encapsulate a whole family's estate plan or an inheritor's multiple trust restrictions onto a one-page diagram that puts it all into perspective. The Inheritor's Sherpa is a book I authored for inheritors interested in developing life-summiting skills to achieve success and enjoy a sense of accomplishment. Although not destined for the New York Times Bestsellers List, the feedback I have gotten has been most gratifying.
Living in the mountains outside of Boulder, Colorado, and working right downtown provides a varied environment that helps me maintain balance between home and work. My husband, Vince, and I have two adult daughters, Jessica and Michelle. Outside of these two core sources of fulfillment, I appreciate time spent with friends, cooking for them at our house and engaging in verbal banter of ideas and concepts to better understand differing perspectives. I enjoy staying fit, and I derive much pleasure from spending time with Micah, the family dog.
